SA, Denmark strengthen relations

Pretoria – South Africa and Denmark will today hold a meeting where discussions are expected to centre on advancing relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Rapulane Molekane will spearhead these bilateral, political, economic and trade discussions with Danish Ambassador Sus Ulbaek, the International Relations and Cooperation Ministry said on Thursday.The objective of the consultations, according to the ministry spokesperson Clayson Monyela, is to promote the African Agenda as a cornerstone of South Africa’s foreign policy, as well as broadening and deepening economic relations, especially increased direct investment.

Monyela said the two countries will also discuss the process of strengthening the UN Security Council, promote UN reform and as well South Africa’s foreign policy objectives with regards to global governance reform.

“It is expected that during the consultations, principals will also discuss views on matters of multilateral interest and concern and establish a rapport with the Under Secretary Ambassador,” said Monyela. – BuaNews
