Pie Chart Caan's Dragons' Den Investment Takes Off

One of James Caan’s ‘Dragons’ Den’ investments has taken off – quite literally!

Motormouse - the Midland company producing executive car shaped, wireless computer mice - has seen its sales soar after signing deals with British Airways and Emirates airlines.

“Our cars are the fastest selling items onboard both airlines’ long haul flights,” said David Bailey, who owes the business along with his wife Patti and Dragon James.

James Caan was the only Dragon who saw the products potential and bought a 40% share of the holding company that owns Motormouse for £120,000.

“Working with such a successful and charismatic man as James Caan and his organization has been fantastic. The association has certainly introduced our product to a much wider audience than we could have on our own,” said Patti.

The Motormouse pitch was the last presentation, of the last show, of the last series of ‘Dragons’ Den’ –so the programme can certainly be said to have finished on a high!

Motormouse have also signed a new deal, this month, to supply UAE airline Ethiad. Their wireless computer mice are also available from Harrods, Selfridges and direct from motor-mouse.net

David Bailey took redundancy from the management consultancy where he had worked for 23 years in 2009. His latest venture is on course to turn over in excess of £1 million in its first year.

“David is testimony to what can be achieved with passion, hard-work and good ideas,” commented James Caan.

“When I met Patti and David in the Den I knew they had a good product, that works beautifully but when I joined them on the Top Gear stand at Earl’s Court I realised the public’s enthusiasm for their unique and innovative design,” he said
